Lawand

Born in Alep (Syria) in 1984, Lawand came to France with his family when he was ten. He became French in 2004. He now lives and works in Lille. Son of a painter and  very early artist, he made his first group exhibition, in Angers, when he was ten. And his first personal exhibition at fifteen. Painter, sculptor, drawer, passionate with poetry, he has illustrated artists’books with great poets such as Bernard Noël, Jean-Claude Schneider, Antoine Ermaz, and Adonis, the most famous Arab poet, winner of the Goethe Prize in 2012.

He is now represented in Paris by Gallery Schwab Beaubourg.
